THEATRE LABORATORY 2024/25
RETOUR EN IMAGES

During the 7-month laboratory we explored tools from different performative traditions with the aim of letting our theatrical self reveal itself.
After a first phase working on stylized human "types", on stage presence, and on the dramatic gesture, we turned to improvisation and composition in pairs and groups. Through a back and forth between stage writing and the exploration of scenes, we developed the performance "Naufragés du temps". On Saturday 24th May, we presented this work at the sociocultural centre Pôle Sud in Lausanne in front of an attentive and generous audience, who appreciated the magical atmosphere created by the performance and the intensity of the actors.
Thank you very much for this wonderful moment of theatre!

PAST EVENTS
ARTISTIC RESIDENCY AT THE UMBRIAN THEATER CENTER - JUNE 2024
In June 2024, Michele Luchetti and Stefania Casiraghi spent two weeks as artists-in-residence of the Centro Umbro di Residenze Artistiche (C.U.R.A.) in Perugia (Italy).
The artists developed a solo performance initially conceived during a residency at the Grotowski Institute in Wroclaw (Poland). The performance reconstructs the existential journey of a night, traversed by a luminous but elusive creature, Nessuno, through their memories, desires and fears. On June 23rd, Michele and Stefania presented the performance with the provisional title "Il viaggio di Nessuno" in front of a selected audience in Perugia, followed by a lively discussion.
On June 25, the duo offered the creative workshop "Stavo Pensando" to the children of Perugia and their caregivers. What a wonderful moment of sharing!

QU'EST-CE QUI NOUS REND HUMAIN·E·S?
THEATRE LABORATORY 2022-23
RETOUR EN IMAGES

Who am I? Who are we? What is a "we"? Although these questions sound very philosophical, they actually arise in many familiar situations.
This theatre laboratory has been a 5-months journey of discovery and creation guided by these questions. In the protected and magical space of the laboratory, we explored these questions both individually and as a group.
The result of our exploration was presented to a very attentive audience on March 31st 2023 at the espace Pôle Sud in Lausanne. A warm Thank You! to all of the spectators and the participants to the laboratory
2021-22 THEATRE WORKSHOP SERIES
For the 2021-22 season, Sarvàn Teater organised "Le Chantier de l'Acteur", a series of workshops exploring the physical foundations of acting.
During each workshop, we worked on a different aspect of the art of the actor, from the use of space to physical improvisation, from the embodiment of a text to the use of theatre masks.
More than 15 participants with various levels of experience and from all over Switzerland attended one or more of the workshops. Thanks to each and every one of you!
Below are some pictures from our last workshop "En Masque !" which took place on Sunday 22 May 2022.

THEATRE RESIDENCY AT THE GROTOWSKI INSTITUTE - JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2022
In January and February 2022, Michele has been artist-in-residence at the Instytut Grotowskiego in Wroclaw (Poland), as part of the Institute's training and residency program for individual artists.
Michele's project aimed at exploring the troubled relationship between rationality and spirituality in the context of the human search for knowledge. During this exploration, textual and figurative sources from popular science books, as well as poems, religious songs and interviews to astronauts became sources of inspiration to develop performative materials through physical and vocal improvisations.
On February 10th, the result of this work was presented for the first time with the provisional title "From the closed world to the infinite universe: a journey of knowledge" at the Na Grobli Studio in Wroclaw.
Tutor of the residency: Kamila Klamut (Zar Teatr)
Costumes and artistic advice: Stefania Casiraghi

SARVÀN TEATER LAUNCH EVENT IN LAUSANNE - MAY 2021
"Sculpteurs des Métaphores", Sarvàn Teater's first theatre workshop in Lausanne, took place at the Espace PÔLE SUD on May 22-23 2021.
Participants joined a theatre training aimed at reawakening the body, exploring its creative potential, and learning how to control and guide it.
After experimenting with several physical improvisation exercises and games, they built a sequence of physical actions and used it to start working on a monologue or a poem.
